Mount Charles successfully secured a prestigious catering services contract with Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, a renowned lift truck manufacturer boasting a rich legacy of over 90 years. The manufacturer’s enduring success is attributed to their dedication to meeting their clients’ requirements by providing robust lift trucks that optimise product movement and enhance the capabilities of their partners.

• Hyster-Yale Materials Handling in Craigavon, about 30 miles from Belfast, is the largest forklift plant in the UK.
• The site has a total of over 700 manufacturing staff working in two shift patterns from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, with early closure on Fridays. Additionally, there are almost 200 office staff who follow a hybrid working model, being on-site two or three days per week.
• To cater to the diverse shift patterns of Hyster-Yale’s staff members, reliable and high-quality food and beverage services were essential.

The solution

Bespoke in-house restaurant commissioned

Mount Charles introduced an in-house restaurant named ‘The Kitchen’ within Hyster-Yale’s state-of-the-art factory premises. The new dining facility caters to the diverse culinary needs of all their employees. Keeping them nourished, energised and motivated to perform at their best.

• ‘The Kitchen’ is designed to offer a modern and inviting dining space, serving a range of menu options to Hyster-Yale employees 5 days a week.
• Breakfast is a selection of freshly baked pastries & scones, jambons, sausage rolls, breakfast baps as well as granola bars and porridge. A range of hearty homemade meals such as stew, pies, lasagne and curries are served at lunch and dinner The late afternoon snack offering is pastries and sausage rolls as well as a made-to-order sandwich bar offering toasties and paninis.
• Focused on delivering high-quality, affordable meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the primary goal was to meet the physical nourishment needs of all employees, while also enhancing their overall workplace experience.
