Mount Charles at the heart of Ireland’s Economic Conversation

CSO Gavin Annon and Group Commercial Director Gary Doyle represented Mount Charles at the IBEC President’s Dinner 2025, connecting with 800 leaders shaping Ireland’s economic future.

Mount Charles was proud to be represented at the IBEC President’s Dinner 2025 by our Chief Strategy Officer, Gavin Annon, and Group Commercial Director, Gary Doyle. The event, held at the RDS, brought together 800+ leaders from across Ireland, all focused on shaping the future of the economy.

The dinner marked the handover of the IBEC Presidency, welcoming Colin Hunt, CEO of AIB Group, as the new President, succeeding Anne O’Leary, Head of Meta Ireland. Key highlights included speeches from the incoming and outgoing Presidents, plus an address from An Taoiseach Micheál Martin.

Dr. Hunt outlined his priorities for the year ahead: delivering on the National Development Plan, championing sustainability and clean energy, and ensuring business drives long-term societal and economic progress. He concluded: “Ireland’s future won’t be built by chance. It will be built by choice—our choice. Let’s choose ambition.”

Reflecting on the evening, Gavin Annon said:

“800 leaders… 1 venue… 1 mission: to make Ireland’s economy one of the greatest in the world! The IBEC President’s Dinner was filled with optimism and realism—recognising the challenges ahead, but confident we’ll get there with true Irish spirit.”

Gary Doyle added:

“It was inspiring to see so many leaders come together with a shared commitment to Ireland’s future. Events like this highlight the vital role business plays in driving sustainable growth and positive change.”

For Mount Charles, attending the IBEC President’s Dinner reinforces our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and leadership in shaping Ireland’s economic future.

A special thanks to IBEC and the event’s sponsors, McCann FitzGerald LLP and Spencer Stuart, for hosting a memorable evening of insight and networking.
