New Northern Quarter to Become Premium Restaurant, Bar and Coffee Destination by Spring 2026
The Mount Charles Group is investing £1 million in a major upgrade of its Northern Quarter food and beverage offering at Belfast International Airport, creating new jobs and delivering a high-quality dining experience for passengers as part of the airport’s wider transformation programme.
The investment will support the redevelopment of the Northern Quarter as part of the airport’s wider transformation programme. The existing food court will be transformed into a high-end restaurant and bar with seating for 180 guests, alongside a new coffee dock in partnership with Bewley’s.
The new concept will enhance the passenger experience by delivering a premium, hospitality-led environment for travellers.
Mount Charles currently employs 40 people at the airport, with staffing levels expected to double to 80 when the new Northern Quarter opens in Spring 2026, creating valuable local employment opportunities.
Gavin Annon, Chief Strategy Officer at Mount Charles, said:
“This investment reflects our long-standing partnership with Belfast International Airport and our commitment to delivering a high-quality dining experience for passengers. We are investing in both our facilities and our people to create a premium offering.”
Kate Sherry, Chief Commercial Officer at Belfast International Airport, added:
“Mount Charles has been a trusted partner for over 20 years, and this investment plays an important role in our ongoing transformation programme. It will deliver a higher-quality food and beverage experience for travellers.”
The redevelopment reinforces Mount Charles’ commitment to innovation, partnership, and supporting local communities across Northern Ireland.
