Celebrating Neurodiversity Celebration Week in partnership with NOW Group

This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week and Mount Charles is proud to advocate for employees with differing cognitive requirements.  Over the past year, Mount Charles has worked in partnership with NOW Group, a not-for-profit organisation that operates across Ireland to support people with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD and other conditions, helping them to find and remain in employment and training.

Speaking about the partnership, Niamh Rainey, Employment Development Manager – Sustainment at NOW Group commented, “Over the past year NOW Group and Mount Charles have built a great working relationship, through collaborative working we have supported 8 NOW Group Participants into jobs with a future. This impact has helped to increase confidence and independence in participants. We have been delighted with the reasonable adjustments Mount Charles has put in place through the recruitment process, including a Meet the Employer Day at NOW Group HQ, and the collaboration through the NOW Group’s Workable NI programme to support with reasonable adjustments for participants to ensure that employment is sustained.”

Emma Dixon, HR Advisor at Mount Charles Group said “We are delighted to have worked with NOW Group for a year now and will continue to build upon the strong relationship we have developed. As one of Ireland’s largest indigenous organisations, it is incredibly important that we set a positive example and show people with neurodiverse needs that, with a little bit of help and support, they are just as capable of entering the workplace as anyone else. Our neurodiverse colleagues have made a significant impact in Mount Charles, and we recognise the value that they can add to our company.”

Mount Charles remains committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace where all individuals, regardless of neurodiverse needs, can thrive. By continuing our partnership with NOW Group, we aim to create more opportunities, break down barriers, and champion the strengths that neurodivergent employees bring to our team not just for Neurodiversity Celebration Week but throughout the year.
